Bill clients abroad. Keep your books in HUF.
Whether you work for one client in Berlin or sell through Upwork and Etsy, EV Napló records every entry in the currency you were paid, converts it with official Magyar Nemzeti Bank rates, and keeps your átalányadó, VSZJA, and VAT obligations tracked alongside it.

Foreign revenue isn't hard, it's just different
What rate do I even use?
Every foreign payment needs converting to HUF for your books, and the rate you use has to be consistent and defensible.
Am I still under my átalányadó limit?
Foreign revenue counts toward your Hungarian ceilings exactly like domestic revenue, so a EUR invoice that looks small can push you closer than expected.
Do I need to charge VAT on this one?
Whether a foreign client gets Hungarian VAT, reverse charge, or no VAT at all depends on where they're established and whether they're a business or a private individual, and it's easy to get backwards.
Multi-currency entries
Record income in EUR, USD, or any currency. EV Napló stores both the original amount and the HUF conversion, so nothing gets rounded away silently.
Multi-Currency & Banking →Official MNB exchange rates
Conversions use Magyar Nemzeti Bank's published daily rate, with an automatic fallback to the most recent published rate when a bank holiday means nothing was published yet.
Foreign currency accounts
Set up a EUR or USD account and see its running balance next to your HUF accounts, computed from the entries you've linked to it.
Hungarian tax, tracked as you go
Foreign revenue rolls into the same átalányadó ceiling and VAT exemption threshold as domestic revenue, with the Dashboard projecting when you'd cross either one.
Hungarian Tax & NAV Integration →Built for the rules that actually apply to you
This doesn't replace reading the specifics: the exact rules, with the exceptions, are in the full guide.
Foreign income guide →SZJA on foreign income follows the same átalányadó or VSZJA calculation as domestic income, once converted to HUF.
EU business clients are typically invoiced under reverse charge, which needs a Community VAT number, not your regular tax number.
Non-EU business clients generally fall outside the scope of Hungarian VAT altogether.
Quick answers
Do I need to charge VAT on invoices to foreign clients?+
It depends on where the client is established and whether they're a business or a private individual. The full rules are in the dedicated guide.
Foreign income guide →Which exchange rate does EV Napló use?+
Magyar Nemzeti Bank's official published rate for the date of performance, falling back to the most recently published rate if none is available yet.
Can I keep a separate EUR or USD bank account in the app?+
Yes. Set up any number of monetary accounts in any currency, each with its own automatically computed running balance.
Does EV Napló send invoices to my clients?+
No. EV Napló is bookkeeping software: it records the entries behind your invoices and pulls your official e-invoice data from NAV Online Számla. You still issue invoices through NAV-compliant invoicing software.
Stop doing currency math in a spreadsheet
